I hope you all had a beautiful happy holiday season with your loved ones !
This year I must tell you that I was so sad, D was not coming home for the holidays. Every chance I got I told him that I wished he could home and how we missed him so much. He showed me his practice schedule and I could see it just wasn’t going to be feasible for him to leave because it is a minimum of a day travel time going and a day going back. So I planned to do what we did for Thanksgiving, have my mom’s family come up and spend the holiday at our house. I had already decorated and planned yummy goodies to bake. (Made some almond pound cake, I wasn’t super pleased with the moisture content of it but the girls at my moms job said I was going to get them fat cause they ate it all lol ). Christmas Eve, I waited patiently at home for them to finally get in and see us.
I worked from home Christmas Eve and baby girl and I spent most of our day on the couch. I had a good long conversation with D’s sister on FaceTime and she asked what were my plans and stuff. I told her that I was sad that D wasn’t coming but at least my mom’s family would be coming up later that day… Finally my mom and them drove in around 5 pm and of course baby girl went straight for her Nana. My little brother playfully said “thats it I’m going home, she doesn’t show us any love” and walked outside. He opened the door but when he walked back inside he was taller and not my little brother… It was D. They had been planning to surprise me for over a month and boy did they ! I cried like a baby. My holidays would be complete, because my little family would be together. Apparently everyone knew but me! His sister stayed on FaceTime with me for so long thinking she would see my surprise in action but they came about a half hour after I hung up with her lol.
It was the best present I could have gotten. Both my babies together, with me. ❤
