Weekend in Review- Moving sucks

it is, more like was our last official weekend in the house! our lease is up at the end of the month which is this saturday so we have been working out booties off trying to get our crap out the house and address any lingering concerns that would take away from the full refund of our security deposit.

holy guacamole i never realized how much crap we had. i will for sure utilize those groupons for moving companies the next time i have to do this because hot damn we keep running out of boxes, energy, and my house looks like a tornado ran thru it.

we cleared out 3 of the 4 bedrooms and have filled a storage unit 75% of the way at least.

we still have to fit our king size mattress, deep freezer, boxes of other house stuff, tvs, entertainment center, gym workout thing, ikea cubbie system thing, and potentially our washer and dryer if we cant sell it before the end of the week.
i keep telling D i think we should have gotten a bigger unit. his response: “i got this”

he’s the one doing the heavy lifting and if i end up being right, and we do need to transfer to a larger unit then he will have to do all the heavy lifting of the stuff to the other one. so he’s right, he can have that.i won’t even say i told you so cause i will feel bad he should have listened to me in the first place 🙂

us girls did take some time to make it to little mama’s friends Art Birthday Party on saturday. they painted and snacked on sweets shaped like easels and paintbrushes. i was able to keep her outfit clean too, success.

sunday we also made it out to the pool for a quick tan/small break.

and then made it back home to take a nap on our mattress on the floor (feels like college) and to continue going thru and boxing stuff.

one benefit i will say to moving ourselves, is that i have had the time to go thru all the things getting packed and decide if it needs to get kept, given or thrown away. (actually i haven’t had the “time” to do this just the responsibility lol) so im decluttering now, and will probably do so when we move into the new place. i already have a sizeable amount of things to donate to the vietnam veterans.

but i said i was putting my stuff in storage?- yeah we can’t move into the new place for like a week and a half so temporarily putting stuff in storage and staying with gracious family for the time being 🙂 [thanks yall! for helping us pack, move and invade your space when we need it <3]

Weekendin Review – Meds, Cakes, Books + Sun tans

its been an exhausting week, this past one. both babygirl and I were sick with strep throat.

have you ever had it? it fricking sucks. everything hurts, eating, drinking, your body hurts, fever, you cant sleep cause everything hurts. thankfully little mama didn’t seem to have a sore throat like i did.

we are both a couple days in on our meds so thankfully we are feeling somewhat better.

even though i was under the weather i had a cake order for saturday.

a man found my page from philly, and wanted to know if i could make a cake for his friend for her birthday. you could tell he really cared about her and wanted to be able to give her something she wanted especially since he couldn’t be here to give it to her himself.

she wanted a kit kat and strawberry cake. i was confused because i thought he was saying a strawberry or kit kat cake (i have pics of both on my site) but he kept saying no kit kat strawberry. then i realized he wanted them together (as he had been saying all along, to make a cake i didn’t have pictured).

i hope she enjoyed eating it as much as i did making it!

3 layers of chocolate fudge cake, with cut strawberries and chopped kit kat nestled in the vanilla frosting middles, and then surrounded by a kit kat border.

all topped with whole fresh strawberries.  and more chopped kit kat.

since it was kind of a birthday gift from him, i added in the red “Happy Birthday Joanne” and he later told me that red is actually her favorite color!
i took baby girl to Barnes & Noble to read some books as we waited to meet the special lady and give her the cake.

She had fun “reading” all the books in the kids section, and she let me read her a couple too.

(on sunday she even told me she was going to the store to get books, i love it !)

i hope to instill in her a love for reading, like i had when i was a kid. i think it really helped with building my vocabulary , good spelling, and using proper grammar.

sunday i decided we needed to get out the house and see some sun. we put on our bathing suits and headed to the pool for a bit.

then my aunts family came to visit as they were in town. 🙂

Weekend in Review – 4.3.16

saturday we needed to run some errands, and it was a rainy day.

we took a box of blankets & sheets to petsmart because they accept them for their dogs and cats that they take in. while we were there we saw some really cute puppies. and little mama, well she did great! she wanted to pet them, she didn’t get scared when they took a few out for us to play with and she even told us she was going to get a new dog.

wait, what? yeah her daddy told her she might get one when we move to the new house.

after that we went to the movies and watched zootopia. it was actually a super cute movie and little mama’s first theater experience. she really liked it and she did well in the theater except she sat in my lap the whole time and got a little fidgety.

after that we went to this japanese version of chipotle for lunch and then home for a nap. rainy weather = the best cuddle time. after we got up it was still raining which meant we couldn’t go to the outdoor lightshow and bouncehouse event our friend told us about so we ate queso & chips and watched some final four basketball. that sounds just as fun to me honestly.

sunday we had a birthday party to go to for our friends who are 2 hrs away. so we took a roadtrip and went to celebrate for their babygirl.

also have you heard of this app called offerup? its like craigslist but i think things move faster. kinda really cool. we put a bunch of stuff on there since we are downsizing and already sold some of it and i bought something that i was looking to use for our new closet. d’s phone has been blowing up with people inquiring about items, while the traffic on our ads from craigslist has been moving a lot slower. i saw this awesome french door stainless steel fridge for $395! sold in 1 hour 😦 but its good to know i can find the things i need for less !
